Different Ways to Help

Donate Now

Share the Website with Others:
One of the greatest obstacles that we face is that most people have never heard of EB. Awareness is the key to curing this devastating disease. The simplest way to help is by sharing the JGSFs mission and website with your friends, family, and colleagues.

Create an Online Fundraiser:
Running in a marathon? Participating in a triathalon? Having a birthday party and asking people to donate to JGSF in lieu of gifts? You can set up your own fundraising project on Crowdrise at http://www.crowdrise.com/jgsf and all of the money raised will go towards supporting EB research.

Run for Team JGSF:
We are thrilled the New York Road Runners has invited JGSF to become part of its Charity Partners Program. JGSF now has guaranteed entry spots in the NYC Half Marathon and the ING NYC Marathon. These spots are highly coveted and are an amazing opportunity to raise awareness about EB and support the work of JGSF. If you are interested in becoming a member of Team JGSF in an upcoming NYC marathon event, or if you are interested in organizing a marathon team in a city other than NYC, please contact Abbie Levine at [email protected].

Honorary and Memorial Contributions:
Making a donation to the JGSF is a meaningful way to honor or remember someone special. We will send the recipient a card notifying them of your honorary/memorial gift and let them know how your gift is touching the lives of others, just as your honoree has touched yours.

Charity of the Year:
Your company can make an enormous impact by naming the JGSF as your company’s Charity of the Year. By organizing raffles, contests, and other fun events, your company can demonstrate the importance of social responsibility, spread EB awareness and save the lives of children suffering from EB.

Donate Wound Care Supplies:
Bandages for a child with EB can cost a family upwards of $5,000 per month. For many families, insurance will not cover these supplies, so they make do with what they can buy at their local drugstore. Consider sending a few of the products listed below to the Wound Care Clearinghouse which distributes supplies to EB families in need. Or better yet, hold a Bandage Drive at your school or community center. The supplies that you can find at your local drugstore include:

  • Vaseline
  • Aquaphor
  • Bacitracin
  • Neosporin
  • Cetaphil
  • Aveeno Products
  • Dove Products
  • Moisturizing Lotions
  • Mineral Oil
  • Alcohol Swabs
  • Kling Bandage
  • Gauze/Cotton Pads
Please contact Kelsey Dashiell at [email protected] to arrange sending supplies to the Wound Care Clearing House.
